We Are Dedicated to Dreams

Welcome to Let’s Talk Dreams we’re glad you’re here! For those of you who may know and for those of you who don’t know, we are a group of five students raising money for The Dream Connection.  The Dream Connection is a nonprofit organization in East Tennessee that provides children with life-threatening or chronically debilitating illness a chance to have a childhood dream fulfilled, and is an organization based solely off of donations. Our group’s name is “Dedicated to Dreams,” and the five of us are campaigning to raise money for this amazing organization. Let’s Talk Dreams is a space where you can learn more about the five students that are behind this campaign. Here you can learn about what our dreams as children were, and understand why each of us chose to raise money for The Dream Connection. First off, we would like to briefly introduce ourselves so that you can become familiar with each of us.

Hello! My name is Hope. I am a sophomore Marketing major and a Studio Art minor at the University of Tennessee. I love all things creative and colorful, and my favorite things to do are go shopping and hang out with my friends.

Hi everyone, my name is Emma! I am a sophomore Kinesiology major on the Pre-Medicine track here at the University of Tennessee. My favorite thing to do at UT is to attend sporting events to cheer on the Vols. I also enjoy spending time with friends and family in my free time.

Hey there, my name is Carter Hill. I am a sophomore Management major here at the University of Tennessee. Getting to spend time with my friends and family is a huge part of my life, as well as rooting on the Vols.

We are all so excited to be working with The Dream Connection. Being able to contribute to a child having their dream fulfilled is so important to us. Before this campaign, the five of us did not know each other. Now we are getting to work together and share the same goal. We are glad you are here to get to know us as we have gotten to know each other throughout this process. New blogs will be posted weekly about our individual dreams as children and our own reasons as to why we chose to work with The Dream Connection. We hope you enjoy this insight into who is behind this campaign and we are happy that you are here. Also don’t forget.. If you want to donate to the campaign, you can find it as “Dedicated To Dreams” on Indiegogo or at https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/dedicated-to-dreams#/

High HOPEs

Hello, it's Hope! The Marketing major member of Dedicated to Dreams. I am glad you stopped by to hear about my dreams as a kid. Now that I have introduced myself, let’s talk dreams. When I was a kid, I had so many dreams. I wanted to be a singer, actress, and a princess. I also really wanted a treehouse, but my dad does not know how to build anything so that dream never happened. Although I am mentioning many of my childhood dreams, I want to focus not necessarily on my dreams coming true, but how the support system I had made me feel like I could accomplish anything I dreamed of. When I was younger, I was a competitive gymnast. I would spend 12-16 hours of the week at practice, and I loved every minute of it. I would beg my parents for new leotards constantly. I kept up to date with all the Olympic gymnasts like Gabby Douglas, Aly Raisman, and Jordyn Wieber. I enjoyed all four gymnastic events, but my favorite was uneven bars. If there ever was an open gym practice, I would be a...

Matt's MLB Dream!

Hey everyone, it’s Matt from “Dedicated to Dreams.” In this blog you guys will get to read my childhood dream of playing for the MLB! I hope you enjoy reading about it! I have been playing sports my entire life, starting at the age of 4. I played baseball, football, basketball, golf and even volleyball (for a little while at least, I wasn’t that good haha). The first sport I played was baseball and have been in love with it every day since! Growing up I started seeing myself progress and getting better and better every year, and wanted to try out for a full-time travel team. I knew if I wanted to play it was going to be expensive and I was going to have to work harder than I ever had before. I tried out for my first team when I was eleven and ended up making it, it made me love every second of the game. My dream had always been to go to Vanderbilt and play for the Commodores then hopefully after that play for my favorite MLB team… The Chicago White Sox!...
